'Green Lantern: First Flight' Trailer!

Are you sitting down?  Well, sit down.  On second thought, stand up.  No.  Wait.  Sit down.  Ah, cut the chase, man!  Forgive my excitement. 

Warner Premiere just released the first trailer for “Green Lantern: First Flight,” the newest PG-13 DC Universe animated film.  Of course, this is a direct-to-DVD release in the tradition of “Superman: Doomsday,” “Batman: Gotham Knight,” and “Wonder Woman.”  Pick them up or stick them in your Netflix queue; they are awesome! Here's the trailer:

“First Flight” was teased on the “Wonder Woman” DVD, and stars “Law & Order: SVU” vet Christopher Meloni and “Alias” papa Victor Garber as Hal Jordan and Sinestro, respectively.  DC animated legend Bruce Timm produced the film, and stated the art is unlike any we have seen in the DC Universe before.

Also starring “Battlestar Galactica” kitten Tricia Helfer and tough guy Michael Madsen, the film is described as “Training Day in space” by director Lauren Montgomery.

Green Lantern has experienced resurgence in popularity over recent years.  Warner Bros. has already announced a live-action feature film is on its way. Undoubtedly this video will be considered a trial run for the fan-favorite character.  Can GL create a household name for himself, as Iron Man did last summer?  The Super Powers GL on my desk just stood a little taller.
