'Hitman' Movie Sequel On The Way: Grab Your Piano Wire.

Agent 47 has been a beloved staple of the assassin style video games.  The Hitman series was a phenomenal success and satisfied the urge we all have to strangle someone with piano wire.  In 2007 we saw the game series brought to life on the big screen.  The movie itself was very successful according to the box office gross.

It seems it was so successful that 20th Century Fox has started production on Hitman 2.  IESB reports that Fox has hired writer Kyle Ward to pen the script for the sequel.  While relatively unknown at the time, his talent has been noticed by producers.  Ward already developed the script for the Kane and Lynch film, and he’s working on Michael Bay’s Fiasco Heights.  Both of these films will be focused on high tension gun fights and intrigue which should adapt well into the Hitman 2 script.

Now I haven’t seen the original Hitman movie to know how well it was adapted or how well it worked as a movie standing alone.  What do BamKapow! Readers think?  Was the film good enough to warrant a sequel, and what kind of scenes would you like to see in the film?

The Legendary Hitman
As a video game movie, it wasn't the worst thing ever made. As an action movie, it paled in comparison to...well, anything John Woo, for example "The Killer". But, it definitely didn't suck in Uwe Boll proportions. Still, i don't feel like it was enough to warrant a sequel, UNLESS they decide to actually explore Agent 47 and have him do some real hits instead of the cat and mouse bs they pulled in the first one.

The Legendary Hitman
Also, get someone with a harder look to them than Timothy Oliphant, who looked rather girly in the role. Jason Statham, though he'd be a bull in a china shop in the role, has the right hardness of the face...so you need someone in that league...and it's not like 47 really says ANYTHING, so you don't need any one who can deliver lines or emotion...

Hitman movie, felt like a James Bond meets The Saint (which pretty are much the samething), combined with Bourne Identity action. That all sounds good, but they still manage to make it a bit dull. Action scenes were done well but just the script felt generic. Not the worst movie you will ever see, 7/10 Personally, I think it can do a sequel, and I will agree with The Legendary Hitman on this if they do a sequel they need to explore the character more.

If they explore Agent 47 more and pick a more intimidating guy to play him it'll work out. I liked the original, it wasn't anything special but it was entertaining and you get to see Olga Kurylenko in the nude so there's that.

Keep in mind that I haven't played any of the games but I do have a familiarity with the character. I picked this movie up on a Sunday afternoon and nothing else was on. Wasn't disappointed. That being said, I kinda liked it. Decent story line. Olga Kurylenko topless? Very nice. Cameo from Desmond of LOST took me aback though. Hitman 2? I'll check it out on HBO.

Lets face facts. 20th Century Fox has been the studio of bad movie decisions and this is another one. Did the Wolverine movie need to made? Nope. Did wanted have to have all of the superhero aspects removed? Nope.
