“The ‘Hoff” was Almost the Man of Steel?

By Dark Lantern on 03.29.2009

File this under the Nelson Muntz “Haw-haw” classic moments.  Legend-in-his-own-mind David Hasselhoff, in an exclusive interview with MTV, claims he was almost tapped to play Clark Kent in the original Superman film.

“Christopher Reeve got it, and it was one of the brilliant decisions that my staff and I made. They said, ‘You don’t want to be Superman because you’ll be Superman for the rest of your life!’” laughed Hasselhoff. “So that’s why those people are no longer with me.”

The sad part is that no one else in the room was laughing.  We can only assume he was drunk on his own sense of self-worth.  And Jack Daniels.  Again.

Rest in peace, Christopher Reeve.  We await your return to Earth when you will deliver justice to the wicked Hasselhoff and his inflated ego.
