Via: Hollywood Reporter Joseph Kosinski, the director of the upcoming Tron remake, is getting Radical Studio’s graphic novel Oblivion (written by Arvid Nelson and drawn by Andree Wallin) made into a movie with Disney as its distributor. Kosinski’s relationship with Tron producer Sean Bailey, now Disney Production head, is what helped solidify the deal. It is in fact said to be the biggest rights deal this year with seven figures attached to it. Radical Studios, the distributer of Oblivion novel, has another one of its comic properties set for production of whom Sam Raimi is set to direct called Earp: Saints for Sinners. Kosinski is also set to direct the remake of The Black Hole distributed by Verve and Anonymous Content. Bottom line, fans don’t need to worry about trash production since every associated partner has good taste. Oblivion is an Earth based futuristic story about romance and adventure that starts when a service bot finds a woman in a crashed space pod on land. Alien scavengers have taken over the radiation filled surface and human civilization lives in the sky. The service bot hails love and obstacles after his encounter with the woman. The novel is set to be released this fall.
