'Wanted 2' Starts Filming This Fall?!WANTED the movie was gratifying and unsatisfying on several levels for me. Despite how far the story deviated from the comic I can’t call it a bad movie. It had its moments, yet the whole time I watched it I couldn’t help but think how infinitely cooler it SHOULD have been better if they had held a little closer to the comic plot line. For me it would have trumped Iron Man. I was disgusted they tried to apply morals to the organization of characters by changing them from super villains to a league of assassins. The complete lack of morality is what made the story so much fun, to get a view from the other side of the coin and just roll with it. Instead we were left with some kind of alternate universe tale of Wesley Gibson. I did enjoy the film, it would have been nice to see the character of Wesley at least rock the suit. Though I actually like the video game much better, which is astonishing since most movie video games are garbage. I felt the game expanded on this version of WANTED, and fleshed out some details that the film did not cover. If they had at least introduced the other factions of the fraternity it wold have helped a bit. Now we have Russian director Timur Bekmabetov gearing up for WANTED 2. Timur is planning a July start for WANTED 2 with locations ranging from America, India, and Russia. Timur has stated that Angelina’s version of the Fox will be back, and they’ve found a way to bring that character back. Sure. I’m not complaining, who doesn’t want to see more of Angelina? It would be nice if they could at least beef up the power of the Fraternity to the same level of control that it held in the comics (where they can get away with anything, including murder in broad daylight). That was the element I wish the first film had at least held on to. Timur has also stated that the Exterminator character from the film will also be returning from the grave. He’s got a budget of $150 million smackaroo’s to hopefully propel the sequel to heights the first was unable to reach. Keep your calender marked for a 2011 release date.
