Rumors have been confirmed that the lead role in Alfonso Cauron’s Gravity boils down to a pair of lovely candidates – Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively. A decision is expected within the next couple of weeks for the film that will also star Robert Downey, Jr.
Alfonso co-wrote the sci-fi drama with his brother Jonas, which is about astronauts who are bombarded by satellite debris while repairing the Hubble telescope. The surviving astronaut must struggle to make her way back home in hope of reuniting with her daughter. The project was originally at Universal with Angelina Jolie attached, but she dropped out when it moved to Warner Bros.
This is the kind of decision I make on a daily basis before becoming engulfed in one of my many sexual fantasies so I have a great deal of experience. Usually, I’d just say to hell with decisions and ménage it out. However, since that’s not an option, I’ll go with Scarlett on this one. She’s the more experienced of the two and a slightly more talented actor. Although, it would be nice to see how Blake handles a leading role.
Either way, it doesn’t really matter who they cast. People aren’t going to see an Alfonso Cauron space movie because of who’s in it. They’re going to go because he’s a great storyteller who’s bound to include a very long and beautiful tracking shot that’ll leave you in head-scratching awe. (Side note: “Lively Johanssons” is now my favorite vernacular for breasts.)
