Hurray! It's like my worst nightmare involving a combination of shitty Ocean's Eleven and god-awful G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra come true! What WILL they think of next?

Well ... never read the book. Can't comment on that aspect. It looks like a pretty typical Hollywood action flick. I'll see it for the fun and ciche of it. However, I'm not expecting much and have no expectations based on past love of the book. I will say this: They should have made a WWII film based on the original JACK KIRBY "The Losers" instead of this. But that's just my opinion. Like I said, never read this book.

The series, as a whole, is pretty good to excellent, although the ending arc feels rather forced. Still, it is much more interesting than the old Jack Kirby stuff, you just need to give it a chance. The trailer seems much more lighthearted and kitschy than the book. The whole Ocean's 11 feel isn't really there in the book, although there is a ton of style...

DKA897 "THE OLD JACK KIRBY STUFF" as you refer to it is some of my heroine. But I understand it's dated for some. I'm not opposed to this series ... just never been compelled to read it. Still not. I'll keep reading SCALPED! (not that that has anything to do with any of this)
