Brett Ratner is Off 'Conan' Movie? YES!

By The Goombah on 05.07.2009

Thank God almighty, Brett Rattner is no longer going to direct Conan! The man who ruined the concluding chapter to X-Men has too many scheduling conflicts to be able to direct the big beastly Sword and Sandals flick. Schwarzenegger should be happy; he won’t have all the franchises he starred in completely ruined.

But for some reason, the studio’s keep dicking around and saying that “ooooh, we want Rattner to direct Conan so badly! It’s a terrible shame that we’re losing him! Wah wah wah, we’re complete idiots!” I just don’t understand it! Who in their right minds would think that the guy who directed the Rush Hour movies would be the one who should helm these fantastic, drama-filled action movies!?! I will give the man “Red Dragon,” that was a purely enjoyable film. But that is still no excuse. Especially after he made such a terrible disgrace in the form of X3: X-Men United.

Anyway, I’m personally ecstatic about this. It looks like they’re still planning on forging ahead with the shoot date of August 24th, finding a director on the way. And good news for you meatheads out there, myself included! They are going to be holding an open casting call for the role of Conan! So if you think you’re big enough, look good enough, and have the acting chops, I would see what you can do about getting yourself an audition! Good luck, and good riddance Rattner!
