Depp Talks Pirates 4, Lone Ranger & Mad Hatter!

At a presser for PUBLIC ENIMIES, Johnny Depp answered some questions about other upcoming projects. Namely a 4th Pirates, The Lone Ranger, and playing the Mad Hatter in Burton’s Wonderland. The story from Latino Review can be read here.

The 3rd Pirates movie sucked, and he really tells us nothing about Lone Ranger, so for our purposes I’m really only concerned with the Mad Hatter stuff. Here is what he had to say about it…

Well, the Hatter was awfully fun, you know? After doing something like a John Dillinger, it evolves where it’s so overstrained because of the responsibility you have to that guy, that the Mad Hatter was like being fired out of a cannon. The Hatter was great fun, and it’s one of things where you’re just amazed you weren’t fired, you know?

AND REGARDING THE LOOK: All I’ve seen is bits and pieces but what I imagined it to look like is is how I feel I thought he should look, which is the first reason I was surprised I didn’t get fired.

Well, Depp as we saw him yesterday in Cleric’s article, looks like a ridiculous porcelain doll or something. Not exactly what I was hoping for. Admittedly I was much more excited for this movie before those pictures hit yesterday, but I’m still going to see it.

If we’re lucky it’ll be more BIG FISH and less CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY…
