Elsa Pataky joins Captain Thunder cast

Adrien Brody and Captain Thunder have something in common.

Spanish actress Elsa Pataky has been cast as the girlfriend of Captain Thunder: Sigrid of Thule, an energetic Viking Princess.

On the casting of the Snakes On A Plane beauty, producer/director Pau Vergara tells THR: "It would be difficult to find a more perfect actress for the part of Sigrid.  Elsa is bilingual, she even physically resembles Captain Thunder's girlfriend and she's a tremendously popular actress in Spain and known in Europe."

Captain Thunder, known as "Captian Trueno" in Spanish, is Spain's most popular comic book hero.  The captain is "a 12th-century knight-errant who wanders the world fighting injustice and is accompanied by his faithful friends Crispin and Goliath".

The adventure movie is set for a July 2009 shoot in Spain.
