Evangelion Sneakers

In the realm of bizarre anime licensing products, the Eva Store has unveiled ridiculously awesome, and awesomely purple Evangelion sneakers. They’re modeled after Shinji’s unit Eva 1, thus the purple and the green, and despite the obvious misgivings on the idea, (I mean, Eva sneakers? Really?) they’re actually so ridiculous that they’re pretty cool.

The idea was developed by ABC-mart, King Records, and Achilles using something called the “Footstep Instrumentality Project,” which sounds a little like something they might be using to brainwash you through your feet, but that’s just my opinion.

They unleash in Japan August 12th, and retail for 12,800 yen (about $128 usd). The site also offers Evangelion Pantsu. (Pantsu is Japanese for underwear. Go figure.)
