Green Lantern's Carol Ferris Cast!

Blake Lively, of Gossip Girl fame, has been cast as Hal Jordan’s love interest Carol Ferris in the Green Lantern film adaptation.

According to THR, her audition wowed execs and made her a shoe-in for the role. Ferris, in the comics, runs the aerospace company (owned by her father) that hires Hal Jordan and thus begins their steamy but compicated relationship.

In other GL news, the casting process will next go after Sinestro, aka Dr. Hector Hammond. The film is slated for a June 17, 2011 release, with script rewrites currently in progress.
