Haas & Brandt already signed for Wanted 2 Screenplay

It's nice to be Wanted.

The 3:10 To Yuma screenwriting duo of Derek Haas and Michael Brandt rapped with Pajiba about how they wound up screenwriters and what projects are in their future.

While Wanted doesn't hit theatres until June 27, Derek Haas revealed: "We’ve been hired to write the sequel to Wanted by [Universal]."

The writers' opinion of how Wanted has turned out: "Wanted has been terrific. We first started working on it when only the first issue of the comic came out, and as the book became crazier and crazier, we tried to keep the script grounded… The movie is going to be a gigantic, hard-R action movie that we hope will satisfy the comic fans."

It appears to me after viewing the trailer that keeping the script 'grounded' meant removing the costumes and any other overtly superheroic aspect from the Mark Millar comic miniseries.  Not that they were necessary, but it's a true shame that the supervillain Sh*thead was left out of the adaptation.
