Jessica Biel In Thor?

Kenneth Branagh continues to impress me. Or at least I find the rumors surrounding his movie to be impressive. The latest tidbit on Thor is that Jessica Biel is in talks about a role. She will most likely be playing either Sif or the Enchantress, and I would expect a scantily clad encounter with Thor at some point no matter which lady she plays. That alone will be worth the ticket price. The only thing I wonder about is how well she would fit in with Branagh’s style.

I have really only seen her in Blade Trinity and Chuck and Larry, neither of which is very similar to what I expect from Thor. There is a little concern about how she will tackle the different kind of role, but it is outweighed by my faith in her acting ability. That is why she makes the big bucks. Who am I kidding? She makes the big bucks because she looks good in revealing clothing. I always worry when girls are casted to be a pretty face, but I am confident that if Branagh casts her then she will put on a good performance. I expect him to put together a great movie, and I don’t think he would cast Jessica Biel just as eye candy, and if he thinks she can play the part then I do too. That and I really want to see her as the Enchantress.

I kind of dug her in the Illusionist. But she hasn't show me one way or the other that she can take her acting to the next level. She's not bad but she's not -good- either.

This will be good. She can do great things when properly directed! We all know the director is AWESOME!

Kenneth Branagh as a director is not "awesome". He's nowhere near the quality of some other directors in Hollywood. Keep in mind he directed turds like: Slueth, As You Like It, and Frankenstein. His 'great' movies have been limited to three: Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, and Henry V...

Branagh has -never- made a blockbuster film on the scale of Thor. Nor has he made a non-Shakespeare film that was watchable. We have no idea if he's actually up to it. Just sayin'...

I'm with Stranger Danger on this one. Branagh is a great actor, but really hasn't directed anything that I liked. I have high hopes here cause I think he'll take it serious, but I'm not brimming with confidence.

I thought the same thing about Jon Favreau before "Iron Man." So I'm willing to give Marvel the benefit of the doubt.
