Jon Favreau Still Not Signed To Direct Iron Sequel?!Seriously, what the hell? Jon Favreau guested on Howard Stern on Tuesday where it was revealed that the director of the blockbuster hit Iron Man has not been signed to direct the already announced sequel: "They haven't offered me anything yet. They're all talking - they want to do it, they even announced a date." Favreau went on to explain that while the stars of the first film signed on for three films: "They’re all signed for three but it doesn’t work that way. That all goes out the window when you make $100 million dollars." Hollywood is completely and utterly nutso. Jon Favreau and the cast did an incredible job with the first Iron Man and it's done insanely well at the box office, yet all the people on the creative end have to wait in uncertainty while the money gets counted. It's a no-brainer to reward those who help you make outrageous profits. Jon Favreau also confirmed in the interview that if he were signed on for a sequel, he would like to tackle the classic 'Demon in a Bottle' storyline that dealt with Tony Stark's alcoholism. That could mean seeing an inebriated Downey Jr pilot the armor into a tree. Thanks to Slashfilm for the transcribery. Sign Favreau! |
