Latest Info On 'Dredd' Remake

IM Global has posted the latest info on the Judge Dredd remake, Dredd.

DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot-if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incaranation from John Wagner and Carlos Equerra’s revered comic strip.

Young beauty Olivia Thirlby will be playing Judge Cassandra Anderson who will act as Judge Dredd’s understudy in the film. She’s a rookie recruit with a gnack for reading people’s thoughts.

Pete Travis, director of Vantage Point, will be teaming up with Alex Garland, the man who penned 28 Days Later, to bring you the new and improved, (we hope) Judge Dredd.

Despite the alluring fact that it will be presented in 3D, with an unannounced release date, we feel this one may sneak past our nets.
