Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass Screenplay Complete

This is some Kick-Ass news.

While it doesn't mean that Matthew Vaughn will necessarily direct, he and Jane Goldman have reportedly finished a screenplay based on Mark Millar's violent comic book Kick-Ass.

The creator-owned series is published by Marvel and set in a close approximation of the 'real world' where a troubled teenager tries his hand at being a costumed hero.  It typically ends badly for him.

The Vaughn/Goldman team previously adapted Neil Gaiman's Stardust for the 2007 film. 

I'd love to see Vaughn directing this one as he does good work with both action (Layer Cake) and comic (Stardust) films.  Plus his schedule is now freed up since that Thor directing gig timed out in December.
