McG Wants To Direct 'R.I.P.D.'

Via: Comic Book Movie The fact that McG continues to get work is a very curious thing. He now has his eyes set on bringing to life the Dark Horse comic – R.I.P.D. (Rest In Peace Department) – that is about two cops who are responsible for policing the world of the dead. Ryan Reynolds, who must have one hell of an agent with The Change-up, more Lantern movies and Deadpool already lined up, is confirmed for one of the starring roles. R.I.P.D.’s premise sounds like it would make for a very entertaining film and the movie that comes to mind when considering its potential (and the movie I’m sure the studio has in mind) is Men in Black. MIB 3 is set for a 2012 release, so it should be interesting to see if the busy schedule of Reynolds and McG (who is currently at work on This Means War) will make it plausible to complete R.I.P.D. before then. Terminator Salvation wasn’t all that great and I’m still waiting to see how Reynolds will do in Lantern so I won’t get too excited about this announcement just yet. It’s strange to think that just a couple years ago, Scarlett Johansson was the busy one with the red-hot career and I thought Van Wilder was far beneath her. It would seem that Reynolds is doing his best to catch up to his lovely wife tho.
