More 3D comming...

Following the success of AVATAR we shouldn’t be surprised that like lemmings, every studio exec in Hollywood is cramming 3D glasses down the throats of America. I think we covered the “Avatar Effect” enough in January. We all know now about the parade of 3D coming our way, from Gremlins 3 and Ghostbusters 3 to Underworld 4 and Transformers 3 to Clash of the Titans and a re-release of the original Star Wars trilogy. Well now you can add GREEN LANTERN and Zaack Snyder’s SUCKER PUNCH to the list, as well as Ridley Scott’s upcoming ALIEN prequel.

The fact that it should’ve been expected doesn’t change that in a couple years the 3D craze will be over and many Lemming-Like execs will have lost their jobs betting on gimmicks. And this will be looked back on as an even sadder era in Hollywood than the Horror sequels of the 80’s…

		2010-03-09 08:03:56 Jorn Meh. The closest I've gotten to seeing Avatar was the episode of Bones where three of the guys were camping in line to see it. I'm only able to get to the theater once in a blue moon, and I wasn't going to waste a trip on that drivel, even if it was pretty drivel. I'll care about 3D when it enhances the movie- for now it's either a poorly used gimmick or a substitute for storytelling.
