'Clash of the Titans' Trailer

Ok, so Titans will clash, but will it be good? I know this is a short teaser trailer, but I always get worried when there is so little dialogue. This for the most part I thought was a weak trailer for what I believe will be a pretty good movie.

Cutting a trailer is an art form. Whoever cuts the trailers for Paul WS Anderson must be awesome because he makes those piles of shit look good. At the same time there are a lot of movies that were really enjoyable but the shoddy trailers didn’t create interest. GAMER would be an example there. The trailer looked like a garbled mess, but the movie was actually entertaining.

This CLASH OF THE TITANS trailer looks uninspired and forgettable. And I’m a sucker for epic stories. There is just a lot of mangled action with no build up and very little direction here. As I am no longer 12 years old, fast paced explosions and grunting aren’t enough to impress me with a film where my expectations are so high. This would’ve been fine for THE EXPENDABLES, but for Clash, I expected more.

Here’s hoping the next trailer is better.

		2009-11-12 17:11:57 theHeadCase I'm sure it's just to get people's attention. One thing I do like is how the settings seem so wide spanning. This movie's about a man's epic quest so I expect him to cover a lot of ground. Hopefully, in the end the movie won't feel rushed and end up being a letdown.

		2009-11-13 09:11:04 Fisticufflinks I agree about the trailer looking amped up and fueled ... but I think that if you are expecting a "Gladiator" style film ... you will be let down. It's going to be a BIG BUDGET Hollywood SUMMER ACTION film. I'm surprised that you didn't already have that in mind. It's Louis Leterrier, it's gonna be a primarily "action" film. That's what I'm making myself want ... I would love something more epic and subtle ... but I don't think this is going to fit that mold.

The Expendables looks like it has too much story and too much comedy for me. I wanted that to be one MANLY BEEF FEST! with very little else. It didn't even need a plot ... but they gave it a weak one and it has dropped on my "Have to see it list" ... I still will be seeing it of course, but I'll be looking forward to "Clash" more. 		2009-11-13 14:11:18 DEATHDEALER The trailer is weak, yes. But, I also believe the studio is trying to market it the same way as 300. I do think we are in for more than what we are seeing here, and not just "action scenes". There's a lot to this story and without the substance then it would only cheapen it. Which i'm sure they steered away from, but the studios need to sell the way they feel necessary. So i hope thats what we're seeing here.
