American Crime Gets Sam Worthington

Sam Worthington, of recent Terminator: Salvation and upcoming Avatar and Clash of the Titans fame has signed on for the film adaptation of The Last Days of American Crime.

The story essentially is a heist film set against a futuristic
backdrop. In the not too distant future, the government announces that
in a matter of weeks a mind-controlling technology will come online
that will effective wipe the mind of criminal impulses. As a result, a
career criminal with an untested crew must attempt the heist of their
lives against the impending deadline.

reports that creator Rick Remender has developed the screenplay in
conjunction with the comic and has been kept in the creative loop
thanks to publisher Radical.

Issue 1 is due to hit comic shelves this December.
