The 10 Coolest Superhero Cakes!

It's time to give recognition to an often unnoticed form of art…

Cake.

Long have the mountains of sugar, flour, eggs, milk, and icing lovingly shaped into our favorite heroes (and villains, and superhero paraphenalia) gone unappreciated and unnoticed, consumed by greedy and hungry masses who fail to notice that someone took the time to mold their favorite character out of their favorite confection.

Well, we at Bam! Kapow! say NO MORE! Let us view these works of art for what they are! Really cool (and really tasty) pieces of art.

Batman

Batman Cake

Someone spent a lot of time sculpting this Batman bust. Check out the cape folds. Never mind that he's armless…that just means he won't be able to defend himself when it's time to serve slices…

Cap's Shield

Captain America cake

Another intrepid cake maker crafted this replica Captain America shield. But, whatever you do, don't try to defend yourself with it. Or for that matter, try to stop a bad guy by flinging it across the room. Resist the urge, as fun as that might be. Cap, stop looking at the cake like that.

Dragonball

Dragon Ball cake

Make a wish on this Dragonball shaped cake. It may not summon the dragon, Shenron, but it's still pretty fantastic. And shiny.

He-Man

He-Man cake

This cake has the power! Any kid from the 80's would be highly amused and impressed with this, capturing the spirit and visage of the greatest sword wielding Prince-turned-warrior on Saturday mornings. The He-Man cake proves that birthdays can be powerful and blond.

Marvel in the City

Marvel cake

I think this scene of Marvel Comics characters in the city is one occasion where it would be ok to play with your food. This one combines the best of both worlds…cake and toys! Pretend your Galactus and consume the buildings while heroes and villains alike try to stop you. At least, that's what I'd do…

Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime cake

"One shall stand… One…shall fall…" And one shall have one helluva cake! The look on this guy's face says it all if you're a Transformers fan. I just hope it doesn't start talking about passing the Matrix of Leadership on once you start eating.

Punisher

Punisher cake

The Punisher's skull warns wrong doers that death approaches. On a cake, it warns that deliciousness can be badass. Check out the cake bullets and bullet holes.

Mach 5

Speed Racer cake

Go Speed Racer, Go! Right into my belly! This Mach 5 replica cake comes complete with cake wheels, cake seats, and a button that makes it jump right into your mouth. OK, maybe not. But still, the craftsmanship is pretty impressive for such a tasty snack.

Spider-Man 3

Spider-Man cake

Wow. I was going to say something smartass, but quite frankly, this is just cool. Spidey being taken over by the symbiote… I'd be hard pressed to want to eat this for how cool a sculpture this is.

Wolverine

Wolverine cake

Wolverine + Cake = Win. The Wolverine figure on top of the cake looks like an action figure, not a confectionary construction… Just don't eat the chainlink fence. Seriously.

Honorable Mentions

The following are badass cakes that, while not ALL actually superheroes, are still really freakin' cool.

The AllSpark

All Spark cake

Battle-ready Bumblebee

Bumble Bee cake

The Justice League

Justice League

Movie Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime cake

And finally…

Venom

Venom cake

This one deserves special kudos. Even though Venom is not a superhero (or a hero's accessory), it has to be noted that this is one of the most well crafted, well designed, and just plain awesome cakes of the comicbook genre. Seriously, how many comic book fans wouldn't love to have a cake like THIS? …Unless, of course, you're afraid it might bite you first… Kudos to the artist that created this masterpiece.
