The Dark Knight beats Spider-Man 3Via: Box Office Mojo The Dark Knight made $155.34 million, which beats Spider-Man 3's opening weekend record by more than $4 million. It also broke Spider-Man's IMAX record of $4.7 million with a whopping $6.2 million. Right behind The Dark Knight was Mamma Mia, which earned $27.6 million, flowed by Hancock at $14 million. Space Chimps which also opened on Friday, with 7.4 million, is in seventh place behind Journey to the Center of the Earth (11.9 million), Hellboy II ($10 million), and Wall E ($9.8 million).
