Who is FOX’s Next Victim?
By Brian Kronner

Today SuperHeroHype.com posted an article about which of the X-Men properties would be the next to hit the big screen. In the article they really didn’t reveal anything as to what the next movie will be, but they did end the article with this: So it sounds like there’s a face-off between Wolverine, Deadpool, Magneto and First Class at Fox right now. Who do you think will win and get the green light first? Well no offense to them, but I really feel like it should’ve read: Who do you think will LOSE and get the green light first? Sorry, I really have never felt more distain for a studio then I do right now towards FOX. (And not just cause the cancelation of TERMINATOR: SCC) The Wolverine movie could’ve been the poster child for everything that fan boys hate in comic movies. Sure it wasn’t as bad as The Spirit, and it may not have been as big a disappointment as Spiderman 3 was, but I’ll be damned if it didn’t still suck. FOX had the opportunity not only to make up for X3, but to also take one of the most beloved characters in the entire comic spectrum and really deliver something great for the fans, EPIC FAIL. I’m in the theater opening night when off-screen Mortal Kombat’s Baraka breeds with the lovechild of Nightcrawler and Cyclops and out comes FOX’s Deadpool…sorry, I have some issues.
Fox has 4 potential X-Men related projects in their sights. A sequel to Wolverine, A Deadpool spinoff, the Magneto movie , and X-MEN: FRIST CLASS. The one that most interests me personally is First Class, but I’m terrified of what they’ll do to it, probably replace Xavier with Radien or something. With great power comes great reasonability, and Fox is greatly responsible for ruining some of our favorite characters in recent years. Here’s to hoping that streak is coming to an end… 5 Comments
